Wine Monograph Asyrtiko White Gaia Wines. We first met Asyrtiko in Santorini, its motherland. There, through the porous and bone dry volcanic soil, arise big wines with uniquely high minerality and impressive acidity. Wines for connoisseurs. Wines difficult but <<grand>> nonetheless. And then Asyrtiko traveled. And it did so well, almost to the entire country, from the Greek Macedonian north to the Peloponnese, the vine-bearer, in the south. And suddenly we saw a completely different Asyrtiko being born through this wandering. Beautiful wines, with refreshing acidity and intense fruity aromas- citrus and other, more tropical and more plethoric- comprise a character entirely different and lighter than that of the Santorinian ancestors. The Monograph Asyrtiko of Gaia Wines captures in a multileveled manner which can be achieved with this, multileveled Greek, variety, when cultivated with knowledge and with persistence on the semi-mountainous calciferous soils of Koutsi, Nemea. A Youthful Asyrtiko, friendly and refreshing, which can be enjoyed as much with fine seafood, as on its own, unchaperoned; perhaps just with good company.
