Whisky Oban 14 Year Old. An excellent single malt whisky made here in Oban for over 200 years in one of Scotland's oldest legal distilleries. Oban is the border between the West Highlands and the Islands. It is the place where the earth meets the sea. The port offers complete coverage and makes the area the main sea passage for the islands and the capital of the Western Highlands. The climate is mild and temperate, heated by the Gulf Stream and regulated by the light rain that often falls around here. The foggy and wet nature of the area, with heather and peat in the background, is perfectly reflected in the malt whisky produced by Oban. Oban uses the best barley, which is fermented according to the special recipe of the distillery. Copper distillers are among the smallest in Scotland. The rich fruity malt is slowly concentrated in wooden hot containers located outside at high points of the distillery, before maturing in oak barrels for 14 years.
